Ewes are run on native range in the shadow of the West Butte of the Sweetgrass Hills. Our ewes receive no supplemental feed during the production year and are range lambed. We shear in late April/early May and our wool cored 22.7 micron and 57% yield in 2017. Rams are purchased at the Montana Ram Sale and are selected based on high US Range Index (>108), large REA (>3.25), and fine wool micron (<22). We see the value of NSIP and EBV’s and are offering two premium groups of 20 commercial yearling ewes that are trained leafy spurge eaters.
